About the Recovery Calculator
Replenish smarter after every workout.
Athletes know the work doesn’t end when the workout does. Post-exercise recovery is a crucial window for replenishing what’s been lost—especially fluids and electrolytes. To help athletes recover more effectively, the Nix Solo app now includes a Recovery Calculator that delivers personalized post-workout hydration recommendations based on your sweat data.
Using the data collected during your workout, the Recovery Calculator tells you exactly how much fluid and electrolytes to consume in the critical two-hour recovery window. This helps you return to optimal hydration faster—supporting muscle recovery, mental clarity, and next-day performance.
Understanding How It Works
The formula is simple; after a workout, athletes should aim to consume:
- 150% of fluids lost during the workout
- 100% of electrolytes lost during the workout
These values reflect research-backed guidelines for effective post-exercise rehydration. With the Nix Solo app calculating your losses, you no longer have to guess how to replenish afterwards.
Note: To ensure accurate results, it is imperative that you input the amount you've replenished during the workout before utilizing the Recovery Calculator.
How To Use the Calculator
To use the Recovery Calculator in the Nix Solo app, either navigate to Insights and select the given workout from the Workouts tab or if you've just completed a workout and are on the summary screen, simply scroll to the bottom of the summary page.
- Choose whether you want your calculation based on All Electrolytes or Sodium only.
- The app will automatically default to the drink that closely matches your replenishment needs with the ability to edit and select a different beverage from the list if that's your preference.
- Review the results from the calculator. The output will show you exactly how much fluid and electrolytes (or Sodium only) you should aim to consume in the two hour recovery period after your workout.
Example of Recovery Calculator in Action
If an athlete loses 32 oz of fluid and 2,740 mg of electrolytes during a session, the Recovery Calculator will recommend that they consume the following in the two hour post-workout recovery period:
- 48 oz of fluid (150% of 32 oz)
- 2,740 mg of electrolytes or 1,299 mg of Sodium (100% of electrolytes)
