Pre-Filled Sweat Patch

Why it happens, how to catch it, and what it means

Before starting a new workout with Nix, make sure to use a new, unused Sweat Patch. Using a patch that has already collected sweat can compromise the accuracy of the data and affect the performance of our algorithms.

The back of the Sweat Patch is designed to collect and analyze your sweat, and it contains sensitive components that must remain completely clean and dry before use.

To ensure optimal performance, apply the new Sweat Patch to your arm and immediately start the workout in the Nix Solo app. This prevents your body from beginning to sweat and filling the patch before the app is actively tracking your session.

Pre-Filled Patch Icon

If you see the pre-filled patch icon on a workout, it likely means the Sweat Patch had fluid in it before the session began in the Nix Solo app.

This can happen if:

  • The patch was used previously during another workout, or
  • You began sweating after applying the patch but before starting the workout in the app

To avoid this, always use a new patch and start the workout in the app immediately after applying it.

Your Data May Be Impacted

If the Hydration Biosensor detects that fluid was already present in the Sweat Patch at the start of a new workout, it will automatically flag the session with the pre-filled patch icon in the app and data accuracy will be affected.

Remember: You can delete any flagged workout from your history to prevent it from affecting your overall sweat profile and performance averages.
